Local police were investigating the death of a 74-year-old woman when they heard muffled cries for help. Following the sound, they discovered the man trapped in a makeshift basement.
A harrowing video released by the police shows the moment rescuers pulled the man to safety. Despite the ordeal, he was conscious but sustained a neck wound.
An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with both incidents. The teenager allegedly attacked the 62-year-old with a knife, locked him in the basement, and covered the entrance with soil.
Authorities believe the teenager may also be responsible for the murder of the elderly woman. If convicted, he could face a life sentence.
